Engine Rebuilding Equipment - Automotive Equipment - Machine Shop Equipment
Rich has owned and Operated Accurate Motor Parts and machine since the Early 80'S. His beginnings in the industry date back years earlier. After a tour of duty in the Air Force during the late 60 'S Richie was welcomed home.Richie's father ran the local full service Engine shop so Richie was drawn into the business. Richie eventually mastered all assembly and machining operations in this full service Automotive and Light Diesel Shop.
Richie established his own business throughout the 80,90'S and into the 2000'S. The business has gown to include 5 people a Full Service shop and Engine Parts Warehouse while stocking $500,000 in engine parts.
"It use to take 3 hours to bore and hone a block on our Kwik Way FN Bar and Peterson HC1DP Power Hone". "Now We Can Bore and Hone a block in 45 minutes". We can actually bore 4 V8 Blocks in an hour."
Richie did all the boring and honing after hours because the demands of customers and phone callers kept him busy all day. Richie grew tired of working after hours. He contacted AMS Equipment sales because he new the Rottler boring machines are very fast. He didn't know about the HP6A Automatic Cylinder Hone. Ritchie attended the A.E.R.A. convention to look around at equipment and to attend valuable seminars and make industry connections.
Richie was getting a demonstration on the Rottler F3A boring machine but his attention was captured by the HP6A Automatic Cylinder Hone. The Hone was working a cylinder without an operator present. The hone automatically short stroked the bore to straighten the taper. Richie couldn't believe what he saw. " These machines will save me time so I can go home on time." Richie purchased the hone and the boring machine.
Richie bores 4 blocks in an hour at night goes home at 6:00 instead of 11:00. In the morning he hones the first bore sets up the final size then verifies the bore. The rest of the bores will hone automatically then the machine shuts down. All Rich has to do is move the hone to each bore and walk away. This allows him to answer the phone, work with customers and manage shop personnel while the Honing machine is working.
