Construction
Made of welded heavy-gauge steel with structural-steel frame. All seams are sealed to reduce fuel usage. The reinforced refractory floor is 3 inches thick and cast in one piece for easy cleaning.
A 3-inch layer of asbestos-free insulation covers the inside walls, ceiling, and door and is held in place by stainless-steel pins, steel mesh, and stainless-steel locking washers. The lightweight insulation has a hot-face rating of 2300°F (1275°C) and contributes to the light weight of the machine, it's fuel economy and faster heating.
Versatility
Parts such as engine heads and blocks can be loaded either into the rollout cart or into a Winona Van Norman 36/48 inch basket. Using the basket allows quick and easy transfer into a Winona Van Norman Blaster for subsequent shot blasting and also into a Shaker to remove residual shot. Normal cleaning time will take 1/2 to 2-1/2 hours depending on the size, type and condition of your load.
Both burners, piping, and motor controls are protected with heavy gauge steel covers, yet easy to access through our quick-tach cover panels. Mix your loads or batch load similar parts, either can be accomplished with our quick load two piece basket/cart.
Safety and Controls
To improve reliability, safety, and environmental effects, the Winona Van Norman Clean Bake Oven is equipped with a NEMA 12 electrical enclosure that contains all primary wiring and also supports the operator controls. The controls include a primary circuit disconnect as well as the oven timer, temperature controls and readouts for the burn chamber and the stack. The Clean Bake Oven also features an automatic purge system that activates purge fans as soon as the main burner stops. The afterburner continues to run as the parts cool. The purge cycle can be timed to remove the equivalent of four times the volume of the burn chamber before the main burner can be restarted.
Other safety features include circuits that automatically turn off the main burner and the after burner at preselected temperatures, a safety interlock that shuts off the burner when the door is open, and a pop-up pressure felief door that automatically opens and closes to prevent excess pressure.
