Hines Crankshaft Balancer
Graphic Depth Encoder Option
The Liberator Advantage
As they say, "time is money" and that is why we have designed the new Liberator crankshaft balancer. The revolutionary design encompasses a workstation for all balance operations. New rod and piston corrections can be done without leaving the machine. The Liberator comes standard with a workstation cabinet offering a 24" x 36" working area. Also included are two storage shelves with lockable doors. The unit includes a wire rack storage system for bobweights and rod adapters. The unit also comes standard with a color 19" flat screen monitor and custom keyboard tray. All electronic components are mounted on a slide tray in the cabinet. In the event the unit needs to be serviced, the tray can be removed in minutes and boxed for shipping. The advantage to this design is that the tray includes all the electronic components ensuring a proper diagnosis and timely repair. The Liberator is the latest in crankshaft balancing technology.
Typical Liberator Computer System
The Liberator Balancer uses proprietary software developed by Hines Industries. The software in conjunction with leading edge electronics provides a system that is fast, accurate and easy to use.
Part setup is quick with the menu based system. Setup options include measurements in either inches or centimeters, weights in either ounces or grams and plane or radius dimensions. Part setup and bobweight information can be printed and stored for future reference.

Time is money. That is why Hines has designed a mill/drill that allows an operator to do all weight matching and correction without leaving the machine.
The optional graphic depth encoder eliminates the guess work when making on-machine corrections. The operator is provided a bar graph showing the amount of correction required. This feature is especially useful for less experienced operators.
Bobweight calculation can be time consuming. The Hines COMPU-MATCH program automates this process. Special programs have been developed that record scale information to the bobweight card. COMPU-MATCH also calculates the number of weights required to build the bobweight.
Upon completion of the balance job the operator can save this information for future reference with the push of a button. You also have the option to print the information for customer review. The bobweight card and balance page provide a great verification tool for all jobs. Customers can see all bobweight information including before and after balance results which are time stamped
The graphic depth encoder ties correction amounts generated by the balancer with the quill on the drill. The operator simply moves the drill to the desired location, pushes a button to zero the encoder, and then views the graph showing the correct depth.
Calculations are tied to a user-defined drill table which includes drill bit size, maximum depth of hole, spacing when making multiple hole corrections, and whether it is an axial or radial correction. Available on Dominator or Liberator.
Drill Press Option
The Mill/Drill Combination allows the operator to make necessary corrections without leaving the machine. The drill can be purchased without a mill table.
The mill/drill head rotates 180 degrees to accommodate the separate functions: mill pistons and rod ends, or drilling and tapping operations, all with the same machine. Optional features:
Digital Depth Encoder Option
A digital measuring instrument which is mounted to the face of the drill which allows the operator to measure depth. Available on Eliminator, Dominator, & Liberator.
